James Franco lives our dream, makes out with himself

With 2010 drawing to a close and award season nearing, its time step up our usual celebrity-worshiping and get classy.

Case in point: the New York Times. For the newspaper's annual Hollywood issue, it taps 14 actors who gave some of the year's most notable performances -- including Natalie Portman, Michael Douglas, Matt Damon -- to act in short films as classic screen types.

Directed by photographer Solve Sundsbo and scored by hipster composer Owen Pallett, each of the shorts is worth watching, but one clearly stands out from the pack.

James Franco, portraying the chronic narcissist, spends his 54-second video flirting with himself in the mirror before planting a tender, mustache-y kiss on his own reflection.

It's artsy. It's hilarious. It's disturbingly erotic.
