"Don't ask, don't tell" (DADT), a 17-year-old bill passed during the Bill Clinton Administration, which many believed represented a severe step back for gay rights and the civil rights movement has been repealed, according to the Washington Post.

"This victory belongs to all who fought to end #DADT," tweeted President Barack Obama. "Let our allies in Congress know how grateful we are for their help."

DADT, which forbid gay soldiers in the United States military from serving openly, was struck down in the U.S. Senate on Saturday, Dec. 18. It was a decisive vote of 65 to 31, with eight Republicans crossing the aisle to join 57 Democrats.

"Can't hold back the tears+pride," tweeted Lady Gaga, who had been using her pop star status to campaign for the bill's repeal. "We did it! Our voice was heard + today the Senate REPEALED DADT. A triumph for equality after 17 YEARS."

Yeah I get to join the military now and take hot showers with a bunch of soldiers... yipeeee...I hope I get to go to camp Tinkerbell..

No, Ramone, you get to go to Camp Moron, a special camp just for you.

So there are no negative reactions from any celebrity at all? Or are they afraid to let their feelings known in this liberal society?

Don't ask

Don't tell

Don't give a #@%&!

dadt was put in place to PROTECT gays so they could serve in the military - before dadt, if they "served" and were discovered they were kicked out, often with a well deserved beating for hitting on a straight. No one wanted, or wants, one of those things to hit on us. Its disgusting we had to put up with them serving with and gawking at us. The good news is with dadt repealed we can kick them out when find them - dadt was the only "right" they had and its been repealed, so we'll NEVER have to shower with those fine examples of perversion again.

Now how about a bill to repeal ignorace and plain stupid people?!?!?!

I wonder if all these Libs know that it was one of their own, Bill Clinton who signed this bill into law in the first place?

I wonder if all these morons know that the DADT policy signed by Bill Clinton was a compromise to prevent the military from actively searching out and removing gays and lesbians from duty?

Who the hell cares how "celebrities" feel about this? Are they in the military in any sense of the word? (Unlike the celebrities of the greatest generation who had a disregard for their won self interest or the danger they were in.) No they haven't the balls to a) go into an actual combat or a zone where combat is occurring (with the exception of Pat Tillman, One Hell of an American Patriot!!!), b) have an actual sense of pride, faith, and respect for the military, or c) have a sense of patriotism toward the United States. As far as I'm concerned those celebrities with their heads so far up their ***** they can't tell common sense from their own sh*t. What the hell does their thought really matter to the common person? Oh lady Gaga thinks its okay so it must be okay. How f*cking stupid is that? So if celebrities came out in favor of slavery, heroin, and gang rape would that make you in favor of it? I wouldn't put it past most of the idiotic retarded losers who have no common sense and are just sheep.

Jack, I believe both Gary Sinese and Adam Baldwin have made frequent forays into combat zones to support the troops there. Certainly both have given their heart and souls to supporting our troops, and shouldn't be lumped in with the generic Hollywood "celebrity".
