CNN's Morgan Freeman death blunder: Actor is very much alive

"@CNN: Breaking News: actor Morgan Freeman has passed away in his Burbank home."Twitter death hoaxes are about as common these days as Justin Bieber related hashtags, but they're rarely started by respected, trusted news sources... until today. CNN's official twitter posted the above update on Thursday, Dec. 16 -- prompting fans and admirers to begin to post a flurry of quotes from the actor and an onslaught of R.I.P. tweets.
One problem? Morgan Freeman was - and is - very much alive. CNN subsequently deleted their tweet, but nothing is ever truly erased from the internet and the damage was already done.
Entrepreneur, CEO, and friend of Freeman Peter Shankman tweeted, "Dear CNN: Morgan Freeman is still busy living. He's yet to get busy dying. Please confirm first." Later, CNN's web producer confirmed to LiveNewsWire that the tweet was a mistake and that they'd retracted their statement.
Perhaps our favorite thing to come out of this is the following tweet, from BookGirl96: "No, people, Morgan Freeman did NOT die. Someone at Fox News probably had a FourLoko and hacked CNN's Twitter account."

"If CNN reports it, it must be true." Not anymore. They are no longer a reliable source in my eyes. Who knows where they get their stories from. Twitter? Come on!

The Fox News quip was hilarious. The rivalry between Faux - oh, I'm sorry - Fox News and CNN still amuses me.
You can hate FOX News all you want but more people watch than CNN. FOX News is the Wal Mart of cable news, deal with it.
Wanna update this story, folks? CNN didn't delete the Tweet. They never posted one in the first place. Some clown did a fake @CNN retweet and people never bothered to check if CNN had actually written it.
Of course, Zap2it takes any chance it gets to take a swipe at Fox News. Typical liberal reaction. The more these people bash Fox, the larger its viewership grows. People are tired of liberals' childish antics. They aren't funny, and they aren't fooling anyone. There's a reason why more independents watch Fox than the other news networks. People can tell the difference in quality. Chew on that. Also, chew on Pew Research Center's findings that Fox had the most balanced reporting during the 2008 campaign. Go. Educate yourselves, please. Then maybe you'll finally wise up.
