'Christmas in Harlem': Kanye West spreads holiday cheer with new song
Kanye West has gotten into the holiday spirit and is giving his fans an early Christmas gift: A new track. And not just any track, a sure-to-be holiday classic.West released his new song "Christmas in Harlem" on his G.O.O.D. music blog and it is expected to be available for purchase on iTunes Dec. 17, according to Rolling Stone. "Christmas in Harlem" features Cam'ron, Jim Jones, Teyana Taylor, Pusha T, Big Sean and CyHi Da Prince.
In true Kanye fashion, the song isn't exactly about the birth of Jesus. Lyrics include, "Told her that 'You the star at the top of my Christmas tree'/ My only question is, 'Where my presents?'/ She said, 'Shhh,' she got a gift for me that ain't for the kids to see/ Well, I like the way you think, mami/ Now pour some more eggnog in you drink, mami."
The track leaked on the Internet before the final cut was finished. CyHi Da Prince tweeted, "The new Christmas in Harlem song is a leak!!! When you this hot you cant do s*** without somebody leaking your s***! the real one is coming!" Kanye (who hadn't tweeted in two weeks. Yes, we've been keeping track) expressed his excitement over the track, tweeting "Just got Dipset verses for Christmas in Harlem! Eeeeevrybody on it!!!! Cam, Vado, Jimmy, Pusha, Big Sean, Cyhi, Teyana Taylor & Musiq."
While we prefer Run-DMC's classic "Christmas in Hollis," we are still loving this new Kanye track. Listen to it here:
