Christmas gift from Tommy Wiseau: 'The Room' to be released in 3-D!

tommy-wiseau.jpgOh, hi best news ever!

Tommy Wiseau, director, writer, producer and star of the cult film "The Room" announced plans to release the the 2003 masterpiece in 3-D at the end of 2011 or in 2012. He tells Entertainment Weekly, "The process is very detail-oriented, but we want to do it because I'm obsessed about 3-D right now, if you ask me." Because that makes sense. Gotta love Wiseau.

Don't fret "Room" fans, Wiseau has no plans to alter the film, so yes, you will still be seeing his bottom in the random and totally awkward sex scenes. Only this time in 3-D! "My bottom will have to be in 3-D because I'm not changing anything. So you'll be very close." Do with that information what you will.

Devotees can also expect a Blu-ray version of the movie just in time for Christmas 2011. "I have hundreds of emails from people saying, 'We want to see the behind-the-scenes footage.' I say, 'Yes you can, as soon as we release the Blu-ray." Seriously, Christmas came early for us here at Zap2it. The only thing we want for Christmas now is a time machine so we can travel to 2011 and buy the Blu-ray immediately.

In other Wiseau news, he is still prepping his sitcom "The Neighbors" and is working on a feature film about the troubled economy. "It relates to homes and foreclosures. You'll be shocked!" Clearly set on world domination, Wiseau also plans to start a clothing line, aptly named "Designed by Tommy Wiseau." "I'll be designing underwear, as well as jackets, as well as sportswear," he said.  "I have the skills. I know how to design. Of course, it will be my face on some of the clothes." We can't think of anything more perfect to wear to a midnight screening of "The Room."

If you have yet to have your life altered by "The Room," well, first off, we feel sorry for you, but here's a clip to whet your appetite. Don't say we never gave you anything. (Warning: There's a bit of profanity in the clip, but you might not even be able to make out what Wiseau is saying anyway.)
