Bristol Palin, Keith Olbermann's 'Worst Person in the World,' fights back on Facebook
Because it just wouldn't feel right if we went a day without acknowledging Bristol Palin's surprisingly enduring post-"Dancing With the Stars" shelf life, let's quickly touch base with Alaska's favorite daughter...Access Hollywood points us to Palin's Facebook page, where, after being branded Keith Olbermann's "Worst Person in the World" du jour on his show earlier in the week, she's penned a small open letter.
Olbermann's issue with Palin stems from her recent PSA for abstinence and safe sex, which he sees as hypocritical given her former teen pregnancy status. Palin, does not agree. And makes a few good points in her rebuttal to the somewhat bullying remarks.
"Mr. Olbermann fails to understand that in order to have credibility as a spokesperson, it sometimes takes a person who has made mistakes," she writes. "Parents warn their children about the mistakes they made so they are not repeated. Former gang members travel to schools to educate teenagers about the risks of gang life. Recovered addicts lecture to others about the risks of alcohol and drug abuse. And yes, a teen mother talks about the benefits of preventing teen pregnancy."
Get it, Keith? It's like "Scared Straight" -- only with sex and the Situation.

Wow for the first time I am agreeing with her. I am quite shocked at myself.
yeah but she didn't get cured of anything (like a drug addict who gets clean), so it's not an equal comparison. she just got older. so now she's not a high school kid having sex with no birth control anymore. now she is an adult woman having sex and using birth control. some accomplishment.
If she was actually discussing birth control and how kids could prevent pregnancy in a realistic manner, and not just focusing on abstinence, then she may have a viable point. But her myopic focus on abstinence (an unrealistic goal with today's kids) makes her just as much a hypocrit as her Mom.
So abstinence is "an unrealistic goal with today's kids"? Evidently, YOUR kids go into heat & squat in the road to mate. From your comments, kids in the past were able to exercise self-control rather than helplessly giving in to impulses. Is it also unrealistic to expect kids to resist anger impulses, which are also "natural"? Sounds like you are the "hypocrit" (sic).
Nice to see the comment from "wow" above calling unwed mothers "******". Hope you advertise that fact to all women you associate with (assuming that any woman actually talks to you...which is doubtful).

She's absolutely right. Don't we listen to recovered alcoholics and drug addicts and give them kudos for being FORMER? She's living with the results of NOT being abstinent, and is the perfect person to promote it.
I don't think Bristol is gonna need welfare anytime soon, with her mother raking in all the buck$$. what planet are you living on, Mel? Bristol is recovered from nothing, she just got a few years older and now more interested in being a "Ricky Hollywood." Yeah, big deal, she can't speak for anyone who is so-called "recovered."
