Bradley Cooper's drug commercial explained, George Clooney embraces 'Gravity'
Remember that commercial for "The Clear Pill" featuring Bradley Cooper? Viral marketing, clearly. And it turns out it's for the film "Limitless," which finds a down-on-his-luck Cooper getting a new life (and face-time with Robert De Niro) after taking a pill that lets him utilize all of his brainpower. There should be a lesson in here about not taking the easy way out, but the jarring sight of a disheveled Cooper makes us think the idea isn't half bad. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón ("Children of Men") and co-starring Sandra Bullock, the film is about the two remaining survivors in a battered space station trying to get back to earth. South by Southwest teases the lineup for its 2011 film festival, with Jake Gyllenhaal's "Source Code" as opener. The sci-fi thriller about accidental body-switching opens nationally a few weeks later on April 1. [NYT]
"New Year's Eve," Garry Marshall's follow-up to "Valentine's Day" keeps getting more ensemble-y. Sarah Jessica Parker, Zac Efron and Halle Berry just signed on to join the sizable cast that already includes Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, Ashton Kutcher, Sofia Vergara, Jessica Biel, Lea Michele and Abigail Breslin.
