Alanis Morissette, Mario Treadway welcome Christmas baby

Alanis Morissette received a visit from not only Santa this Christmas, but the stork too.

"Alanis Morissette and Mario 'Souleye' Treadway welcomed a baby boy, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway, on Dec. 25th," a rep for the new mom tells People. "All are healthy and happy."

Try to say that name five times fast.

The 36-year-old announced her pregnancy in August, after marrying rapper "Souleye" on May 22. The "Ironic" singer admits that the pregnancy was a surprise, telling Chelsea Handler on her late night talk show, "I had just sort of said in passing [to my doctor] that I was a little late ... And he said, 'Let's take a quick look.'" Nine months later ...

This is the first child for the couple, who met in 2009 at a meditation ceremony in Morisette's home. We wonder whose musical footsteps the baby will follow in?

Why are people so narcissistic that they choose to give their children names that will immediately set them apart from society or, at the very least, get them beat up on the playgrounds? Another effing accessory for the celebrity. Why not just name the kid Bunghole or Dungheap?

I like "Ever." And it's really not that far out there. I chose names for my children that would set them apart not out of some narcissistic need but because they are special and there’s nothing worse than going through school with four other people of he same name (I’m a teacher).

I'm not a fan of "Ever", but it's not nearly as bad as many celeb baby names out there.

A name doesn't make a child special. It merely forces an assignation on them to prove in some way that they are.
