Shannen Doherty's dad, John Thomas Doherty, dies at age 66

When actress Shannen Doherty participated in "Dancing With the Stars" last spring, she said she did it to honor her father John, who had recently suffered a stroke. Even though she was the first celebrity to be eliminated, she still considered her time a success because he got to be in the audience and watch her dance.Shannen issued a statement Sunday (Nov. 7) that her father had passed away. She called him the "greatest man in the world" and added "I love him with every inch of my being and cannot imagine life without him."
Following his stroke last spring, John Doherty had been battling a series of serious health issues. We're very sorry for your loss, Shannen.
