'One Tree Hill's' Sophia Bush wants you to Do Something for green energy

sophia-bush-getty-peta.jpg"One Tree Hill" star Sophia Bush has always been wary of putting her life online.

"I've never been a person that's wanted to open up any facet of my personal life to any kind of social media," she told Zap2it when we spoke to her in June. Her tune changed when she decided to use Twitter to spread awareness about the devastating situation in the Gulf of Mexico. "All of my skepticism has been destroyed. The sheer outpouring of support, and not to sound cliche, but the outpouring of love that we've received -- I have cried."

Now Bush is moving beyond Twitter to embrace Facebook for DoSomething.org and Energy Star. Bush is the face of a new PSA that encourages kids to "take a break from building their farm towns and fighting crime lords and instead play a game that involves taking online and offline actions to help the environment and increase energy efficiency."

The game, called eMissions, encourages players to take real-life initiative to green their lives and their communities, whether it's by changing out their lightbulbs or starting recycling programs at their schools.

"Teens are already on Facebook playing games, so why not play one that's going to change your life for the better?" says Bush. "Young people need to hear that they're powerful and can be leaders in change. This is the idea behind eMission."

Bush was chosen to be the celebrity face of the game at the suggestion of Twitter followers, who sent her name to DoSomething. Watch the PSA below and find out how you can get involved!
