Nate Berkus hospitalized, nation instantly enters throw pillow crisis

Noooo! Talk show host, aesthetic genius, and all-around domestic rock star Nate Berkus was hospitalized Tuesday, Nov. 30 after an appearance on the "Today" show, where he wasn't feeling too well. "He powered through and then went straight to the hospital after that and they learned he had appendicitis," his rep tells People.

Berkus will undergo surgery, and had to postpone the tapings of two of his shows, sending the nation into a domestic downward spiral. If the Oprah protege doesn't get well soon, living rooms across the country will suddenly sprout vertical blinds, loud rugs, wicker, and cluttered bookshelves. We'll all forget how to use mirrors to make our bedrooms look enormous and our closets will fall into near-fatal states of disarray.

In all seriousness, we hope Berkus gets better soon! According to his rep, he's expected to be back next week. "He was in a lot of pain. I don't think people realized how ill he was," the rep says, but, "Doctors expect a quick recovery."
