NASCAR's Jeff Gordon and Jeff Burton get into fight

NASCAR must be trying to convert some of those NHL fans because two if the sport's biggest stars got into a fight Sunday, Nov. 7, at the Texas Motor Speedway.

Racecar drivers Jeff Gordon and Jeff Burton got into an altercation after Burton slammed Gordon's car into a wall mid-race. While there were no punches thrown, the two men exchanged shoves and heated words before officials intervened.

Gordon spoke with ESPN after the fight, saying, "Of all the people out there, I never thought that would happen with Jeff Burton I've always had a tremendous amount of respect for him, but I certainly lost a lot of respect today."

Burton also spoke out after the fight admitting he was in the wrong. "I knew he was going to be mad, and I don't blame him for being mad. He didn't do anything he shouldn't have done. He was upset, and he should have been upset," he said. "I wrecked him under caution -- I didn't mean to wreck him, but I wrecked him under caution -- and he meant to tell me he was upset."
