Michael Buble's crooning doesn't offend us but it doesn't make us swoon either. No biggie, we felt the same way about Harry Connick Jr. He's just not our scene.However, we do find Buble very funny and amusing and suspect that he's at least a tiny bit tipsy a good 85 to 90% of the time when he shows up to events. Kind of like a modern day Dean Martin. And that we definitely do dig.
So when he won for Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist at Sunday (Nov. 21) night's American Music Awards, he had us eating out of the palm of his hand from the second he kicked off his accceptance speech with "God, I love winning things."
He charmed us further when he thanked his fans, may they be "young, old, gay, straight, black, white, rich, poor," and told his model/acress/singer fiancee Luisana Loreley Lopilato de la Torre (say that 10 times fast -- or even once for that matter), "Lu, you inspire me, kid."

I beg to differ about MB being tipsy. Yes, the tone of his speech was different from a lot of the other artists, but so what. Everyone's personality is different, everyone's confidence level is different and everyone's idea of how to present themselves to the public eye...is different. Michael Buble is an out-going, fun-loving guy who's got a big, kid heart and a great sense of humor. That was his personality showing on stage, not aided by any amount of alcohol. When it comes to his career, he takes it very seriously and would never do anything to put himself in a bad light or let his fans down. I am also a fan of Dean Martin and need to comment on that as well. The idea of Dean Martin coming on stage drunk, was nothing more than an act. Dean Martin was another one that took his career seriously and the drunk act was just a persona he created for himself. I think that act started out as one thing and just kind of stuck. When you see him on stage, appearing to be drinking, that's apple juice in his glass, not alcohol.

People have accused him for years of being tipsy in public. I don't care - I love his singing.
i think buble's drunk act is just that...an act. he's hilarious though! i saw his show with my sister and mother and i laughed during every singing break he took. he's a talented guy.
