Malin Akerman caught up in 'Inferno'

Once upon a time Anna Faris was going to play Linda Lovelace in director Matthew Wilder's biopic about the porn star. But she dropped out because she wanted to focus on her comedy career.

Now Malin Akerman, who has already established her knack for comedy in movies like "The Heartbreak Kid," "27 Dresses" and "Couples Retreat,"  has signed on to take over the role from Lindsay Lohan, according to online reports.

Wilder had been sticking by Lohan for months despite her rotating door at rehab that was only equaled by the one she had going at the courthouse. However, when it became clear that her schedule would not be in any shape to commit to starring in a movie in the near future -- not to mention the difficulties in insuring her -- the production finally had to move on.
