Kanye West cancels on 'Today Show' following interview, Twitter feud
Uh oh. Kanye West is not pleased with Matt Lauer, and apparently it will keep the rapper from following through with his scheduled Nov. 26 performance on "The Today Show."
After airing a pre-taped interview with West on the Nov. 11 episode of "Today," West took to Twitter, writing, "I'm not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons. I'm so happy the world got to see just a small piece of 'the set up.'"
That set up was alluded to earlier in the week when West wrote that Lauer "tried to force" his answers by playing clips of some of his more infamous TV moments. Lauer addressed the accusations saying that nothing "unusual" or "improper" had happened.
The New York Times reports that "Today" is completely in the dark
on the matter, saying that they hadn't heard any confirmation. But maybe that's because Kanye is still open to performing. He ended his Twitter tirade on a bit of a lighter note: "Much love to Matt and the whole Today Show. I accept ya'll future apology in advance LOL!"

Kanye West is a ignorant human. His color has nothing to do with it. Hes statement of "Bush hates black people" has nothing to do with it. Kanye...your not black! Your a "star" (loosely used) Stars dont have color! And to throw a race card? Well..."Kanye....hates....white people.." TOOL!
Kanye just continues to hurt himself and his career with these actions. He needs to learn to see himeself as we see him, cocky and arrogant. Keep it up and the only rapping you will be doing is behind a guest services counter at Macy's wrapping Christmas presents.

Perhaps Bush should have helped the drowning? Not sent Blackwater thugs with machine guns? Not dispersed the poor to barbed-wired camps in Montana?
Maybe Bush should have looked also at the corpses of Iraqi children.

I'm sorry, Kanye didn't once actually apologize for any of his comments or actions. Matt Lauer "rephrased" what Kanye said making it seem like an apology. And Kanye's comment that he is a "rational, well thought-out person" is hilarious...on what planet? It is time for him to go away before he makes an even bigger fool of himself.

Matt basically asked Kanye about two televised appearances where Kanye came across as a complete jerk. These were not private events. Kanye should have known what he was doing when he acted rudely in each situation.
I was in the process of calling to make a pledge to the Katrina relief when Kanye made his remarks about President Bush. I hung up the phone and never gave anything to the relief effort. The last thing I wanted to do was give money to a cause that was wanting to play politics and stir up division.
I'm glad Kanye will not be performing on the Today Show. Surely that show can come up with a better performer to grace the airwaves.
This is a toss up for me- Kanye has done some stupid things- so has George Bush. What I think bothered me more was the exchange between Meredith, who I love, and Matt, who I don't, allowing themselves the opportunity to have the last word and saying it seemed like nothing wrong to them.
