Jessica Simpson announces engagement to NFL free agent Eric Johnson
Jessica Simpson is going to be a newlywed again. The singer, who's been seeing seeing former New Orleans Saints tight end Eric Johnson since May 2010, is engaged. People reports that the relatively recent romance is already taking them down the aisle, citing a member of team Jessica who says, "Yes, we are excited to confirm that they are engaged!"
Of course they're excited. Look at that exclamation point.
Her happy news does come right on the heels of ex Nick Lachey's own engagement to Vanessa Minnillo -- though their news seems less surprising, coming after a four-year relationship and not a 6-month one.
Jessica and Eric met each other through mutual friends, and their romance took off pretty quick, frequently engaging in PDA and even flying to Italy together for Jessica's 30th birthday.
The celebration isn't completely public yet. Jessica remains quiet on Twitter, her last tweet readind, "Weekend agenda = SKYLINE!!!!!! Can't wait to see @donald_faison and @BrettRatner take over the box office!! XO"
