Han Solo 'not so interesting,' should have died, Harrison Ford says
Han Solo is arguably the most loved character in the "Star Wars" universe. Except maybe by the guy who played him.Harrison Ford offered up a rather uncharitable assessment of the character in an interview with ABC News, even going so far as to say that Han should have died in "Return of the Jedi."
"As a character he was not so interesting to me," Ford says. "I thought he should have died in the last one, just to give it some bottom."
"Star Wars" creator George Lucas, Ford says, wasn't so keen on that idea: "George didn't think there was any future in dead Han toys."
Ford made his comments while promoting his new movie "Morning Glory," in which his character (we're guessing) also does not die. Here's the relevant video:
What do you think? Is there anything to Ford's idea that death would have made Han Solo more interesting?

Yeah, let's take some more advice on character development from the star of 'Hollywood Homicide,' 'Air Force One', and that last Indiana Jones movie.
I'm glad he's laughing about it. I was fearful he'd turned into a cranky old man.
Looks kind of nuts in the eyes...
Actually, I agree. I loved Han in the first two movies, but he seemed to have nothing much to do in ROTJ.
I think Harrison IS turning into a cranky old guy. anyone see him on Jon Stewart? Ford's dry humor is indeed getting VERY dry.
he just doesn't want any other actor coming after him to continue the roll..me thinks
Seems to me like Harrison Ford played Han Solo in RotJ as if he had died. He really didn't put much effort into that performance.
So he has a sense of humor - great! I've always heard he's as wooden as a plank.
I agree with him - Han Solo was a bore, but so were the other Star War characters. I wasn't taken with Harrison Ford until he was in his forties.
Don't you love it when actors diss the role that made them stars?
Han solo should have died as it was orginally intended by george lucas in the orginal script
