Dino De Laurentiis, filmmaker and Giada De Laurentiis' grandfather, dies at 91
Legendary film producer Dino De Laurentiis, who has more than 500 films on his resume, has died. He was 91.His daughter, Raffaella, released a statement, confirming: "Dino De Laurentiis, patriarch of the De Laurentiis family, Academy Award-winning producer and film legend, died on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 10PM (PST) at his home in Beverly Hills, California surrounded by family. He was 91."
De Laurentiis' impressive career stretches from the early days of Italian cinema with greats such as "La Strada" (for which he won a best foreign language film Oscar), "Nights of Cabiria" and "Bitter Rice" to American films such as "Barbarella," "Serpico," "Flash Gordon," "Dune," "Army of Darkness" and "Hannibal."
De Laurentiis was first married to "Bitter Rice" actress Silvana Mangano, with whom he had four children. Through his daughter Veronica, he's the grandfather of Food Network personality Giada De Laurentiis. Dino later married Martha Schumacher and had two daughters.
"My grandfather was a true inspiration," says Giada De Laurentiis in a statement. "He was my biggest champion in life and a constant source for wisdom and advice. I will miss him dearly."

Clam Tart, your statement about Giada being a psycho is abhorrent. What do you know about Giada? What gives you the right to judge her? Shame on you. She just lost her beloved grandfather and you come out with such an unfeeling statement concerning her state of mental health? I feel sorry for you.
