Box Office: 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1' gets 125 million points for Gryffindor
Ten years into knowing Harry Potter, and we still haven't gotten tired of him. Though "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One" didn't break "Twilight: New Moon's" November Box Office opening weekend record, initial weekend estimates prove what we've known all along: America loves Harry.In its first week, "Potter" opened in over 4,100 theaters and raked in an estimated $125,120,000. Yowza. Opening-night midnight screenings alone raked in $24 million as droves of die-hards headed to the theater, broomsticks and wands in hand.
The only other brand new release in the Top 12 is "The Next Three Days," which made $6.7 million.
