Alec Baldwin gives Internet early Christmas present, shills cakes for regional supermarket
We're holding out hope that this will eventually reveal itself to be a viral teaser for a holiday episode of "30 Rock," but, for the moment, it appears that Alec Baldwin is the new spokesman for Wegmans supermarkets. The Academy Award-nominated actor, who's frequently suspected of having political aspirations, has filmed a series of spots for the regional grocery store, where he pretty much marvels at the low cost and quality of product.
"What an amazing experience!"
For us all, Alec. Consumerist (via Vulture) points out that this isn't entirely random. Baldwin revealed his mother's love for Wegmans to David Letterman last year. The adds were shot in the same Syracuse-area store she frequents, and we believe that's her in the end of the second video:
We appreciate the emphasis on the deal here, but a $6 cup of coffee, Alec? Where exactly in New York are you finding those?
