Taylor Swift's 'Dear John': Mayer? Probably.

Taylor Swift isn't exactly known for giving the men in her life a break after a break-up. She lyrically, publicly, and brutally tore Joe Jonas to shreds with her last album, "Fearless," even tearing up as she sang in front of him at an awards show. This year, she isn't talking about exactly who her songs are about -- well, except for that one about Kanye West, of course. Still, she hasn't gone to great lengths to hide the fact that "Back to December" is probably about Taylor Lautner.
So what about her song "Dear John"? Is it about John Mayer? Almost definitely. The lyrics speak for themselves. Mayer and Swift were rumored to have dated briefly after a Twitter flirtation and her "duet" -- which was more like background vocals -- on his song "Half of My Heart." We always thought it was rather suspicious that after a spell of mentioning each other in every breath and doing surprise performances together, they suddenly ceased all public interaction.

Mayer acts like a careless douche. I pray she didn't sleep with him. I think his personality draws women in before acting like a total jerk after he gets them in bed.

Whatever! She's overdramatizing to increase record sales. Personally, her lyrical attacks are too vague to pinpoint any mishap on his end. I'm not saying he didn't do anything wrong. Clearly, there are two sides to every story. All I'm saying is she's an adult, she chose to get in this relationship, and it's short-sighted and egocentric to then blame him entirely for their relationship. It's a smart marketing move, sure. People feed on drama and buy your songs. But trying to deal with heartbreak in such an angry and jealous way is just unclassy and somewhat immature.

Okay- obviously you Dubya are not a songwriter but here's some news... EVERY SONGWRITER OVERDRAMATIZES THE EXPERIENCE. Its what makes a popular song. Do you think all those "clubbin'" songs were really the best night of those rappers lives?- no they just took the feeling they got and added words to it. I actually think this song is one of her only well-written songs. And maybe the reason she was so vague was because she didn't want to be too obvious about it which apparently doesn't matter because everyone's attacking her anyway!
