"American Idol" and E!'s Ryan Seacrest, his E! News co-anchor Giuliana Rancic, reality star Khloe Kardashian"Real Housewives of New York's" Jill Zarin, and "America's Next Top Model's" Jay Manuel are among some of the celebrities who have pledged their support for The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation's (GLAAD) Spirit Day on Wednesday, Oct. 20.

The event honors the young people we've lost to bullying-related suicide and shows gay youth struggling against bullying that people are supporting them.

In addition to the Hollywood stars, Fort Worth City Councilman Joel Burns, whose "It Gets Better" video has attracted almost two million viewers on YouTube, will appear on Wednesday's "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" wearing purple and asking DeGeneres to wear purple, as well.

If you'd like to join the movement, go to the GLAAD website, for more information and to learn how you can go purple on Twitter and Facebook.
