Meghan McCain nixes 'DWTS': 'It takes a lot of tequila to get me to dance'

meghan-mccain.jpgWith Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol Palin hoofing it on "Dancing with the Stars," is her former running mate John McCain's daughter Meghan McCain next?

The Dish Rag caught up with Meghan at the Express and Elle 25 at 25 party at the Palihouse in West Hollywood Thursday (Oct 7). And we were surprised to find out that she listens to The Ramones before she does a big interview ("Judy is a Punk Rocker" is her "go-to song").

Catching up with current events, we asked Meghan, who was rockin' her Limited tweed embellished jacket, about Bristol Palin hoofing it on "Dancing with the Stars." We wondered if she would ever appear on the show and what she thinks about Virginia congressional candidate Krystal Ball's risque photos that turned up on the Internet this week.

Has she seen Bristol on DWTS:  "I don't watch "Dancing with the Stars." I watch HBO and a lot of news."

Would she ever go on DWTS: "No one wants to see me dance. I dance like a white girl. It takes a lot of tequila to get me dancing."

If there's one person that knows all about the perils of photos posted on the Internet, it's Meghan. Surely you remember that 2009 cleavage shot she Tweeted out and caught flack for from the conservative Republican base?

Her take on Virginia congressional candidate Krystal Ball's risque party pics: "I think it's be careful what you put on the internet. I have had to learn this lesson the hard way and I talk a lot about this on when I give speeches to college students. I have had my own experience and it's so easy, me personally, click, click and upload in bed. But you have to be so careful."

"My little sister just went to college and my big advice to her was 'Don't let anyone take a picture of you doing anything that you that you don't want on
the cover of the New York Times' and 'Don't put anything on Facebook that you don't want plastered all over the news.' Unfortunately It's just the times we're living in. Privacy doesn't exist now on any level."

elle.jpgWise words.

Elle magazine's "25 at 25" issue bash was sponsored by Express and attracted Hollywood's hot young stars for a birthday bash honoring women featured in the new issue. Hosts included Meghan, actress Aubrey Plaza and musician Amanda Blank.  Oh, Meghan's mom Cindy McCain was also on hand.

Inside the issue (now on stands) are profiles of  Anna Kendrick, Lauren Bush, Lea Michele, Aurel Schmidt, Susanna Lau (aka Susie Bubble), Chloe Malle, Lindsey Vonn, Megan Fox, Sarah Lane, Dianna Agron, Greta Gerwig, Grace and Mamie Gummer, Amanda Blank, Meghan McCain, Melanie Fiona, Camilla Belle,  Isabel Lucas, Janelle Monae, Mila Kunis, Olivia Thirlby, Lauren Conrad, and Bar Refaeli.

So she didn't really "nix" it.

Memo to Megs McCain: Go out and get yourself a real job! Your lame attempt to make yourself mainstream in the media reminds me of those old fashioned, ceiling hung fly strips.......

SHE'S TOO FAT TO BE ON DANCING ITH THE STARS.

The show only signs people on that want to do it...

The show only casts people that want to do it.

re: Ms. McCain's "go-to song," the Ramones had a song called "Judy Is a Punk" (from their debut album) and another song called "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker" (from the album "Rocket to Russia"), but I'm pretty sure that they didn't have a song called "Judy Is a Punk Rocker."

As far as "Dancing with the Stars" goes, the show should enlist fewer reality TV personalities and no relatives of famous politicians. The show should have more competitors who are actors, musicians, athletes ... you know, the kinds of folks who actually have an adequate reason to be called "stars."

I'd like to see Cindy McCain on DWTS. It looks like she keeps herself in better shape than Megan. Long lean limbs just look better in the DWTS costumes.
