'Life As We Know It' is good for Katherine Heigl at the box office
So much for "Secretariat." Disney's equestrian drama was considered a strong contender for number 1 this weekend, but after Friday's returns, it looks to be no match for Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel's rom-com "Life As We Know It" or the second outing for "The Social Network."
The dueling films are both estimated to bring in $15 million over the course of the weekend, but round one went to "Life," which nabbed the top spot on Friday night with $5 million in ticket sales. "The Social Network" came a notch lower with $4.5 million.Still, "Secretariat" isn't far behind. Its numbers are included in the complete top 10 films:
1. "Life As We Know It" - $5 million
2. "The Social Network" - $4.5 million
3. "Secretariat" - $4.2 million
4. "My Soul To Take" - $2.5 million
5. "Legends of the Guardian" - $1.8 million
6. "The Town" - $1.8 million
7. "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" - $1.4 million
8. "Easy A" - $1.2 million
9. "You Again" - $750,000
10. "Case 39" - $750,000

Well, Secretariat just leaped out of the starting gate, and if others remember or have already seen the movie, he was a Superhorse who came from behind, broke track records and outran all the competition! I just went to see this movie and IT'S FANTASTIC!!!!! I know, I'm prejudiced since I'm also a major horse nut, but even non-horsey people should also LOVE IT!!! Family friendly, no profanity, and very inspiring! I hope the movie track record will do the real horse justice.
The only reason LAWKI will be #1 is because Josh Duhamel creates a nationwide panty moistening when he's on screen.....especially when he takes his clothes off. The man is impossibly beautiful. 100% certified Grade A meat.
Oh and BTW, it's Legend of the Guardians, not Legends of the Guardian. :)
personally can't stand Duhamel. he does absolutely nothing for me. and that movie looks terrible.
