They shall spawn a super-race of tall, hearty, tennis-playing basketball stars.Los Angeles Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic and tennis star Maria Sharapova are engaged to be married, the Slovenian athlete told reporters before an exhibition game on Thursday (Oct. 21). Prior to the Lakers-Warriors games, Vujacic said that the three-time grand slam tennis champ Sharapova had said yes to his "old-school proposal" and that they were both "really happy."
The 26-year-old Vujacic proposed on the couple's one-year anniversary of meeting the 23-year-old Sharapova at a friend's barbecue. Lakers reporter Mike Trudell also tweets, "Sasha Vujacic confirmed that he is engaged to girlfriend and tennis star Maria Sharapova."
No date has been set for the wedding. Congratulations to the happy couple!
