Katy Perry 'Firework' boob display is dazzling, but tame

Katy Perry's latest video "Firework" may be a tad disappointing for those who want to either see more of her exposed body or criticize her for it.

The pop star is very chastely dressed for the entire video. In fact, Elmo saw more than we're seeing here.

That doesn't mean there's no emphasis on Perry's famous bosom. As part of her song theme, CG fireworks burst from chest. Yes, dazzling sparkles shooting out. It's a metaphor that's actually pretty sweet, encouraging and uplifting.

Wait, what?

Yep, Perry's song "Firework" is all about boosting self-esteem and individuality, taking what's inside you and letting it shine. A sample of the lyrics:

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting through the wind
Wanting to start again

Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards
One blow from caving in

Do you ever feel already buried deep
Six feet under scream
But no one seems to hear a thing

Do you know that there's still a chance for you
Cause there's a spark in you

You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July

As always, Perry's songs are instantly catchy, and we support such a positive message. We kind of need it nowadays. Perry has also been running a contest in which fans can upload their own YouTube video telling why they (or someone they know) are a "firework." The winner will get a trip to London to see Perry perform.

As for the video, it's not bad. We don't think it's as iconic as "California Gurls," but it's still memorable.

I love it, she needs more videos like that, they have more significant meaning and can change people's lives

The video and message behind it are so powerful. I love it and would love to see more songs like it.
Deserves to be a bigger hit that California Gurls as well.

loved the vid and the whole entire song until the homosexual kiss. its sad that its become okay. its not. i do believe people need to acknowledge that people with homosexual desires are still people and are fellow human beings. Its not good to persecute anyone. its really, for me, not about acceptance (because everyone has the right and need to be accepted) but rather about lack of love for our fellow neighbor. (we have ourselves to blame for that) but we should still love enough to correct something that nature was not intended for. everyone wants to believe we evolved from monkeys...but i don't see two monkeys of the same sex shakin the bannana tree together. All of my friends I love dearly but that doesnt mean i just sit there and act like its okay to be immoral. they still need to know the difference between right and wrong. I still love regardless of the choice....I "Hate the Sin not the Person"

the song is nice . everyone should forgive and forget - i agree with what mark said . gay ,straight , black, white , good, bad and indifferent.. everyone should have a support system and people shoudn't judge a book, by its cover. open it up and read it .. you may like it .

the homosexual kiss was unnecessary. i agree with mark as well.

Great song with a great message. And Mark homosexuality is not immoral. It's 2010. If you can't handle a little gay kiss move to a less progressive country.

I loved the gay kiss!

By the way, there is plenty of evidence that homosexuality exists in nature.
