Johnny Depp drops by London school, reaffirms status as coolest ever

Johnny Depp must get an awful lot of fan mail -- between 3 and 47 letters each year from us alone -- so its safe to say most of it probably never crosses his eyes.

But some of it does. And in the case of 9-year-old Beatrice Delap, who sent him a plea to help lead a mutiny against the teachers at her school in South London.

And since Depp is currently filming the fourth installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise in the area, he was happy to oblige -- in part.

BBC reports the actor showed up, in character and costume as Captain Jack Sparrow, to perform for the students for 15 minutes. And though he didn't lead a mutiny (he advised against it), he did lecture the children on the importance of... dental hygiene.

Here's a somewhat grainy clip of the appearance (via the New York Times), including little Beatrice's triumphant meeting with the actor. Her cred is pretty much set through college now.
