Courteney Cox, David Arquette separate after 11 years of marriage

Courteney Cox can actually get her "Cougar Town" on now, as TMZ is reporting that she has split from her husband of 11 years David Arquette. In fact, the report says that the two have been split for "several months" already.Reportedly the separation is due to photos that surfaced of Arquette and a woman with whom he had been intimate. One source says the relationship is a work in progress and that divorce is by no means a done deal.
The couple met on the set of "Scream" in 1996 and married in 1999. They have one daughter together, Coco, 6, and are currently filming "Scream 4," due out April 2011. The Dish Rag has reached out to the couple's reps for comment.
UPDATE The couple has released a statement:
We agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time. The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply. As we go though this process we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together. We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation and we hope that our friends, family, fans and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding and love at this time as well.

Here's hoping they do work it out. They're an adorable couple. I always thought they were such a great example of two people who were so opposite but accepted and cherished each other's differences.

ah yea thats kinda sad... I heard today that 70% of all divorces are initiated by the woman.
Separation seems as stupid as living together and having a kid unless you are one of the few that will never get married and live together forever....
they should just accept that its over and move on ...
I don't think seperation is stupid. Some times you need time apart to realize and appreciate how good you had it. It's better than immediately going for a divorce, especially when children are involved. I hope they work it out, they always did seem like such a great couple.
