Woman throws live puppies into river, PETA offers reward for her capture
A disturbing video of a young woman gleefully throwing at least six live puppies into a river has caused waves of horror and outrage on the Web.People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is now offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the capture and arrest of those involved.
"Animal abusers are cowards," PETA Manager Martin Mersereau said in a news release. "They take their issues out on the most defenseless beings available to them."
A girl with long blonde hair, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt seems to speak Croatian, while picking live whimpering puppies from a bucket and throwing the helpless pups into the rushing water.
The tape was originally posted on YouTube, but was quickly pulled down. It is still widely available online. If you have the stomach for it, you can watch it here. We couldn't make it more than 3 seconds.
PETA says that clues in the video and the first online post indicates that it may have been filmed near the Vrbas River in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Under Bosnian law, a person who kills or tortures animals can be fined $19 to $6,400.
There's also Facebook pages dedicated to helping track down the young girl, who at one point says "Whee!" as she tosses a puppy.
Similar online outrage over a woman videotaped stuffing a cat into a trash bin in England resulted in her being identified, castigated and investigated.

I love all animals, and I'm all for animal rights, but i absolutely HATE PETA. This woman should be charged for animal cruelty, but cmon, they're just animals, they're acting like she murdered a baby...

This act was horrible and so are some of the reactions I have read, most from PETA types. Stuff like catch this woman and throw her in a river or catch her and kill her. How about catch her and prosecute her to the fullest extent of the law. Nope when it comes to animals to these types it is ok to kill a human in the name of an animal. These people are just as disgusting.
Well, I wouldn't actually condone killing her, but it's obvious she's a psychopath. If she isn't already a serious criminal, she is a ticking time bomb so I can understand the feeling that she should get more than a fine.
it is a fact that people that abuse of animals as an adolescent grow up to commit more serious crimes this girl should be locked up and evaluated asap before she does this sort of thing again cause it could be a human next time or another defenseless creature
Everything that is born life has a right to live and this includes human beings as well as animals.

Hurting, maiming or Killing animals is the first sign of a sociopath. Those who sympathize with them should visit a psychologist. Animals are not "just animals". They are living, breathing, intelligent creatures who deserve every chance to survive and thrive. I can't stress enough the fact that harming an animal is the first step towards harming a person. This should be taken as a red flag, a warning sign that she needs to be committed and evaluated not trivialized. This is especially so if she was making gleeful noises while doing it.

In reading this in the news,it seems to me "this person has nothing better to do with her time". While reading the comments here, no one has mentioned the person filming this. This person too needs an "***" whipping.
