Why 'Mad Men' Christina Hendricks can't wear designer dresses

christina-hendricks-two-dresses.jpgChristina Hendricks was named Esquire's Best Looking Woman in America in May 2010. But the international fashion industry -- including Versace, Chanel and Armani -- just can't cope with her voluptuous curves.

'People have been saying some nice, wonderful things about me," the actress, who plays the sexy secretary Joan Holloway on AMC's "Mad Men", tells the Daily Mail. "Yet not one designer in town will loan me a dress. They only lend out a size 0 or 2. So I'm still struggling for someone to give me a darn dress."

Zac Posen designed her headline-making lavender feathered Emmy frock worn on Sunday (Aug 29) . And Christian Siriano from "Project Runway" made her (estimated) size 14 Golden Globes peach gown seen above back in January. She wore another of his designs -- the black number seen above -- to the Creative Emmys.

C'mon, Donatella, Karl and Giorgio. Step up to the fashion plate!  Not every sexy woman in Hollywood is a size 0.

This just proves how perverse Hollywood and, by extension, the fashion industry has become: They no longer design clothes for women, they design clothes for stick figures.

Shame.

That's a dam* shame! That woman is not only drop dead gorgeous, but on a very popular tv show that she was even nominated for! Designers should be falling over themselves to design for her.

She should be a guest on Project Runway and have them design a dress that she can wear to an event. That would be a fun challenge, and interesting since the designers often have trouble with the "real woman" challenges. She needs to have her stylist get in touch with up and coming designers and have them make dresses especially for her. They would be happy to have a celebrity wear their clothes and give them publicity and get their name to other celebs.

Further evidence that instead of flogging their clothes, fashion designers ought to be flogging themselves.
