Lou Reed did not cause Susan Boyle to miss 'America's Got Talent' performance

susan-boyle-agt-getty.jpgIt was previously reported that Lou Reed would not give Susan Boyle permission to use one of his songs for her "America's Got Talent" performance and she subsequently walked off the set in tears.

However, Reed's reps tell Access Hollywood that the glitch was that the song was not cleared for the American market in time for the show, which has nothing to do with Reed. The song is cleared in the United Kingdom, but not across the pond. Boyle did not have another song prepared.

Boyle's reps released the following statement Thursday (Sept. 9): "Susan was due to perform a chosen song from her new album 'The Gift' on 'America's Got Talent' in Los Angeles. It is with real disappointment and regret that she has been unable to do so due to unforeseen circumstances relating to the song. Susan is very disappointed as she had been looking forward to it immensely. She is now on a plane heading back to London with a heavy heart. Susan really looks forward to being able to perform her new songs very soon."

What do you think, "America's Got Talent" fans? Are you sad you didn't get to see Subo sing?

Well that is good to hear.

Who cares?

Wow! q'uelle surprise! SuBo acting like a 2 year old diva! LOL!

I am always disappointed when I miss hearing Susan Boyle sing, especially a new song. Her management team should be sure this does not happen to her again. All of this is so very new to her, and I imagine, very complicated. I bought her first album for gifts and dearly love mine. Will be looking for her new CD.

Yes I was very disappointed to not hear her ! This was a strange error for her managers to make. Are they new to the business as well ????

I hate this new habit of creating nicknames for stars
( SuBo,Brangelina etc.).Does anyone else get bugged by this ?

Agree w/Linda. What's with SoBo, sounds like a drink. Don't get why all the entertainment pple think it is so cool to do this--they sound stupid. What is even funnier is when they interview these stars, they act like they are best buddies. These stars are promoting something, the only reason they are talking to you. We know you are not bosom buds with George and Julia, etc.. Back to SoBo...she could have performed something else, couldn't she. I don't think she is a Diva, I think she is just not coping well with this new found stardom.

It is her managements fault - they should have checked all the legal angles before flying her out there. She is not a Diva, far from it - she has a wonderful voice and a fragile emotions at times - her Management messed up.

Susan is a wonderful singer and I feel bad that she couldn't sing "Perfect Day" on "America's got talent". I think she would have made that song sound better than ever.

I have never seen a more uglier woman in my entire life...
