Lady Gaga's raw fashion statement: A bloody meat dress
Lady Gaga apparently likes her attention-getting couture raw. She's posed naked, covered in slices of raw meat in the September issue of Vogue Hommes Japan. She matched her lipstick to the bloody creation and topped off the main course with a side of sirloin worn as a hat.
Naturally, those "meat is murder" folks at PETA are a bit bent out of shape about this. Although we're not sure why because this photo certainly doesn't promote the eating of meat. In fact, it's quite turned us off steak tartare.
"Oh, Lady Gaga's job is to do outlandish things, and this certainly qualifies as outlandish because meat is something you want to avoid putting on or in your body," PETA's President, Ingrid Newkirk, tells the Daily News. But in truth, like most of Lady Gaga's antics, wearing meat to get noticed is not a new idea.

"America's Next Top Model" contestants in raw meat and posing them in a slaughterhouse for
a 2008 photo shoot. And who can forget The Beatles controversial 1966 Yesterday and Today album cover -- featuring the fab four grinning, covered in blood, meat parts and baby dolls? The album was given a different cover before being shipped to the US. But that didn't stop Beatle fans from steaming off the new cover to see the original, making it a collector's item.

I think it's bizarre but I don't think people should make a big deal out of it. Free country, right? Let Gaga wear meat if she wants. LOVE her by the way, she's beauteous.

I'd eat her meat. Not the hottest bod in Hollywood, but her outlandishness makes her sexy as hell. And the meat dress? Anything that pisses off PETA, I'm definitely a fan of. They are WAY too outspoken in the press, and get 100 times the coverage they deserve.

The Beatles Yesterday and Today baby butcher cover was about their stance against the Vietnam war. Some of the "Steamer trunk" covers were simply pasted over the original cover so there's some of them out there too. Peta approves of selective killing of nonadoptable animals anyway so I have mixed feelings there, but caging animals is very wrong.
