Kanye West opens up about Taylor Swift ... on Twitter
A week before the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards (the award show in 2009 where Kanye West ran up on stage in the middle of Taylor Swift winning the award for Best Female Video), Kanye opens up about the incident on his relatively new Twitter account.Kanye writes:
With new found humility ... who am I to run on stage? I would never ever again in a million years do that. Sorry to let you down.
It is distasteful to cut people off as a general rule. What's the point of dressing tastefully if I'm going to act the complete opposite?
Yes I was that guy. A 32 year old child.
When I woke up from the crazy nightmare I looked in the mirror and said GROW UP KANYE ... I take the responsibility for my actions
I am not a bad person. Even in that moment I was only trying to do good but people don't always need my help.
Beyonce didn't need that. MTV didn't need that and Taylor and her family friends and fans definitely didn't want or need that.
These tweets have no manager, no publicist , no grammar checking... this is raw
Humanity and Empathy are 2 of the 4 principles at facebook. Those were the 2 principles I was missing on that evening
Why are there so many tweets? Well this isn't a simple subject. There are layers to this beyond me running on stage.
In case we don't say it enough: God bless Twitter.
The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards air live on Sunday, Sept. 12 on MTV and are hosted by comedienne Chelsea Handler.

Notice he didn't say he was sorry. It wasn't about "Taylor" - his tweets are all about "Kanye" and how he feels. Jerk.
The man did just lose his mother at the time. That doesn't make it right but you try & not go a little nuts.
@Kat if you continued to read his tweets he tweets about 15 more time about how he just wants to be a good person and he knows where it starts and his final tweet in the barrage is "I'm sorry Taylor"
He's a punk regardless and I don't believe he dresses that tastefully.

Kanye, I'm gonna let you finish ... I'm really happy you're saying you're sorry ... but your tantrum was one of worst "show your butt" moments of all time ... all time!
So, I forgive you, but ... I'm keeping an eye on you, dude.
....oooooooo, took a whole year?! I lost my parents 12 months apart, and I can say I never acted like an azzhole to those around me - or - complete strangers. No excuses for bad behavior. Should have immediately said he was sorry and sucked it up like a decent man.
It took a year for him to say I'm sorry and he did it on Twitter, what a jerk. He was rude before his Mom died and he is still rude. I don't see a difference, he's still under the impression that he is the only one that matters.
He told Taylor and her mother that he was sorry the NIGHT it happened, people! This is just the first time that he's doing it publicly. Some people just want to hate him, no matter what.
For real, let it the F*** GO! I don't like the guy either, but at least he is doing some self reflecting. What about the rest of you guys? Do any self reflecting lately? Live your lives in a positive manner instead of coming on here to vent your anger so you feel better about your own pathetic, judgemental, hate-filled lives. The guys was a jerk, we get it. @TVannie & Kerry, time is not relevant; just be glad he admitted guilt and let him be forgiven. It's as if you guys think no one deserves a chance to grow and change. So is he to be punished for the rest of his life? If he never said a word, would you guys hate him any more? BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES YOU GUYS ARE.
Lghten up Robert, and take a good look in the mirror.
