Josh Holloway gets 'Lost' in 'Mission: Impossible IV'

josh-holloway-getty.jpg"Lost" star Josh Holloway is making a transition to the big screen in a big way -- he's landed a role in "Mission: Impossible IV."

Holloway, who played the wisecracking Sawyer on "Lost," is the latest addition to a cast that already includes Jeremy Renner and Paula Patton along with star Tom Cruise, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Series veterans Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg will also be back.

He's also the latest alumnus of a J.J. Abrams TV series to make the leap to one of Abrams' movies (he's producing "M:I4"). "Felicity" stars Keri Russell and Greg Grunberg appeared in the third "Mission: Impossible," and former "Alias" regular Rachel Nichols was in "Star Trek."

No details on Holloway's role are available, other than he'll be part of the Impossible Mission Force.

"Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof (who's not involved with the movie), however, has offered up a small suggestion via Twitter: "Sawyer nicknames for Tom Cruise in MI:4: 'Hoppy,' 'Prince Charming' and last but not least, 'Intenso.'"

The movie will be Holloway's first big-studio film; he had previously worked only on a few independent projects and other TV shows in addition to "Lost." Brad Bird ("The Incredibles," "The Iron Giant") is directing "Mission: Impossible IV," which is tentatively set for a December 2011 release.
