James Van Der Beek and Kimberly Brook welcome baby daughter

"Dawson's Creek" star James Van Der Beek may be forever known as the guy who pined for Joey Potter while she sailed away with Pacey, but in real life, he's moved well beyond teen angst and onto a new journey: fatherhood.

Van Der Beek and wife Kimberly Brook became parents over the weekend, welcoming daughter Olivia on September 25.


"Couldn't come close to describing this bliss even if I had 140 million characters," Van Der Beek tweeted two days after his daughter's arrival. "Olivia Van Der Beek, born 9/25. I apologize in advance for any obnoxiously precious new-dad tweets that may follow. I'm under her spell..."

The proud parents were married in August in Israel, just five months after Van Der Beek's divorce from ex-wife Heather McComb.
