Is 'Iron Cross' star Alexander Newton the next Robert Pattinson?
Keep your eye on Alexander Newton. British Vogue certainly is. The magazine has already picked the 18-year-old British actor as a likely competitor for "Twilight" hunk, Robert Pattinson, which is high praise indeed.
Alexander appears in his father's film, "Iron Cross," a revenge thriller starring the late Roy Scheider ("Jaws") as a retired New York cop, tormented by brutal memories of WW2.
He comes to believe his son's elderly neighbor in Nuremberg is responsible for murdering his entire family in a Polish forest in 1942.
He enlists his reluctant son's help to kill the suspected Nazi. The
film flashes back to 1942 in which Scheider's younger self (Zander)
escapes his family's massacre and exacts his own vengeance, with
devastating consequences. "Iron Cross" will be released in the spring
of 2011.But the film festival accolades are coming for this father/son team. On Sept. 23, Dad producer/director Joshua won the Visionary Filmmaker Award for "Iron Cross" at the Boston Film Festival. And Alexander also picked up the Best Young Actor for his performance (as the young Scheider) in the film.
Did we mention that -- just like RPatz -- Alexander also has a musical side to him? And then there's that delish plummy British accent.

This looks like a very exiting Movie and nobody else than Rob Scheider will be rememberd in it.. Zander looks more like Taylor..so young and pretty..DO NOT TOUCH....

Terry, you said it very well. This young man, Zander looks nothing like Rob and is not half as sexy. He looks like a pretty- boy male model, not ruggedly handsome and hot like Rob.

He is no Rob. Nowhere close to being as good looking. Rob has a quality to him thats hard to compete with. Very much like Leo. But I wish him a lot of luck.
Are you kidding me? this KID does NOT look like Rob. They may have the same accent and that's probably about it. The look is not there, the jaw is definitelly not there. Good luck to him but he is no Robert.
I would hope he wouldn't want to be the next Robert Pattinson. If this guy is winning acting honors he is going to go much farther than Pattinson. Constipated sparkly vampires and overacting do not make for a good thing.

I believe I'm gonna like this movie...as for the Rpatz comparisons....I don't think they mean he looks like him, just that he will probably have the same "affect" as Rob.
Everybody he's just a KID!! ROBERT is 24 and ALEXANDER is just 18 - thats 6 years difference!! And fortunately for men they get much more sexy as they get older. I personally think Alexander will end up looking a lot like Johnny Depp. Robert has a different look.. Its more Leo - Denik you are completely right. He's a cutie there is no denying it! If I see him in the street I'm defiantly gonna ask for his autograph and a kiss :p those lips look juicy!!! Hehe
