'Easy A': Penn Badgley is better at being a teenager now that he's 23

Penn Badgley may be playing a single dad and college student on "Gossip Girl" now, thanks to Georgina, but in his new movie "Easy A" he's back to high school again. The actor says that now that he's almost 24 years old, he's getting better at being younger."I am becoming quite the expert on teen life in the digital age. The irony is that I am truly getting a handle on being a teenager many years after the fact," he tells NY Magazine. Wouldn't we all be a little better at it the second time around?
Not that there's anything in his past that he'd change if he could. Badgley says that there's nothing he'd want to go back and tell himself as a teenager." "I don't think it would make for a very complete person if you could escape every moment of pain in your life," he explains. "Looking back, the things you cherish as you get older are often the things that made you cringe then. They also make for the best stories over beer in your adult life."
Don't worry, he doesn't always take himself so seriously. "Easy A" takes a few potshots at "Gossip Girl" -- and makes fun of "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants," the series that launched Badgley's girlfriend, Blake Lively's career.
"We don't take ourselves so seriously that we can't laugh at a good joke," he laughs. "I'm pretty sure neither of us will lose any sleep."
