The next Susan Boyle: Will it be Jackie Evancho?
A 10-year-old girl named Jackie Evancho, who sings like she's 30, may have just stolen Susan Boyle's crown.
In a similar fashion to Susan, who knocked the socks off the judges on "Britain's Got Talent" in 2009, Jackie also got a standing ovation Tuesday (Aug. 10) night on "America's Got Talent" for her rendition of an Italian aria "O Mio Babbino Caro."
She stands a great shot at making the finals. A YouTube act who got the most votes from viewers on last night's show, she's already won a trip to Orlando for her whole family. She may have an eerily adult voice but we bet this young girl is really gonna love hitting the amusement parks.
But while some are already comparing adorable little Jackie's talent to Susan Boyle's, we don't think she has the pathos Susan had.
Susan certainly didn't have the "cute" factor going for her when the dowdy little woman bravely stepped onstage and faced the sneers of the audience -- and Simon Cowell -- with a smile and a song.
Susan was a middle-aged woman who had struggled through life, singing in pubs for tuppance, hoping to become a professional singer. We think that's a large part of what made spunky Susan so popular with the entire world. Everyone can relate to having a dream that didn't come true, but they keep dreaming anyway.
You can hear more of little Jackie's singing on YouTube. Then compare her to Susan Boyle's first appearance and vote in the poll below.

Its impossible to believe that such a mature voice came thru that little mouth. Her vocal chords sounded so pure and her lung power was so strong, it will be hard for her to improve. Hopefully success so early in her life will not destroy that purity.
Do you mean the "next Susan Boyle" as in sellin 10 million albums in her debut album? Or the "next Susan Boyle" as in staying at #1 on Billboard for 6 consecutive weeks? Or the "next Susan Boyle" as in being having a global number one album?
If you mean any of those things, then of course not.
This girl doesn't need to be the "next" anyone. Instead of trying so desperately to recreate that which cannot be recreated, one should be applauding her amazing talent and wishing her the very best in what hopefully will be a very successful career.
Yes, I do think she will be the next Susan Boyle, in that she will come in second place, just like Susan. The producers have promoted the heck out of her "surprise" performance, and I think viewers will take it for granted that she is going through, allowing another to grab the most votes. Prince Poppycock will win...and he is a great act as well, perfect for Vegas!
