Michael Douglas has a tumor in his throat, remains 'optimistic'
Michael Douglas, Oscar-winner for producing "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and acting in "Wall Street," has a tumor in his throat, reports People. Douglas will receive eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy treatment, but says in a statement that he is "very optimistic." His doctors expect him to make a full recovery.According to the AP, the actor is currently out of the country but publicist Allen Burry declined to give Douglas' current location or treatment location. Douglas and wife, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, purchased a house in Bermuda nearly 10 years ago, so perhaps that is where he'll choose to recover.
Douglas can next be seen reprising his Oscar-winning role of Gordon Gekko in the sequel "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," due out Sept. 24.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
