Mary Bale: 'funny' to put cat in garbage, death threats not so funny
A British woman named Mary Bale was caught on camera in Coventry, England as she threw a tabby cat into an outside garbage bin this weekend.
Why? She thought it would be "funny".
But many other people do not agree. Bale, 45, has received death threats, and a Facebook page was set up to track her down. According to the Daily Mail, before it was shut down by Facebook, one page -- "Death to Mary Bale" -- attracted more than 18,000 very angry members who offered up all manner of "funny" things to do to Mary.
Miss Bale was caught on video picking up four-year-old tabby cat Lola before throwing her into the bin and closing the lid..
She told the Mail: "I did it as a joke because I thought it would be funny. I never thought it would be trapped, I expected it to wriggle out. I don't know what the fuss is about. It's just a cat."
She said she was just walking home on Saturday (Aug 21) when she saw the cat and played with it. Then, hahahah, let's put Kitty in the garbage bin, shut the lid and walk away.
The cat's owners found Lola 15 hours later when they heard her crying from inside the bin, which, thankfully, had not been picked up by the garbage disposal crews. They then posted the video footage on YouTube and well, you can guess the rest.
A Facebook spokeswoman said: ''We can't comment on individual cases for privacy reasons but I can tell you that one group, entitled Death to Mary Bale, has been removed today.''
The ASPCA is investigating Mary Dale.

The RSPCA is actually investigating (though the ASPCA is probably pretty angry about it).
Because of all the threats, the police are actually consulting with Bale for her personal safety.
it's nice to know people can go around abusing and torturing other peoples pets for a joke, and get away with it... not...
Please are cruel. This is why cat owner should not let there cats outside. There are always people who are unfeeling and evil, thinking animal lives are not worth anything. While the woman should not die, I think its perfectly acceptable for people to let her know exactly what they think of her, and maybe stick her in a garbage can for a few hours and see how she likes it.

You cannot predict the dangers, there are many, cars alone are reason enough for protecting them by keeping them safe indoors with YOU..
We never let our six cats out, never will...We have had many cats in 30 yrs and they ALL stay indoors.
