Jennifer Aniston tackles toplessness, threesomes and marijuana in new film
With the box office failure of "The Switch," the world seems to be begging Jennifer Aniston to change gears and tackle different kinds of roles.
And it looks like she will. Though this falls under the umbrella of comedy, so all implications of grittiness need to be taken with a grain of salt, Hollywood Life reports that Aniston's new role in the Judd Apatow-produced "Wanderlust" will include a walk on the wild side.
The latest offering from man who brought us "Knocked Up" and "40-Year-Old Virgin" features a down-on-their-luck couple (Aniston and Paul Rudd) who move into a commune.
That's when things get scandalous.

-"Full frontal" nudity, though only a topless scene is described
-Jumping in bed with the male population of the commune
-A threesome with two of the commune women, including one who's pregnant
-Gratuitous pot-smoking
-A pregnancy of her own, complete with paternity confusion
Hmm... that last one sounds awfully familiar.
So does this sound like a good idea or should Jen's new direction be a different one entirely?

She did say she wanted to show off her body before it was too late. Good for her.
So does this sound like a good idea or should Jen's new direction be a different one entirely?
I say different. Go with an original, artfully done horror film. Romantic comedies don't do her justice, and not even the great Apatow will help her. Given that Paul Rudd is by her side, I just don't see it. It's repetition to me.
Maybe this will make her movies better. She DEFINITELY needs to switch something up since it is clearly not working.
This sounds desperate on her part. How about she stop taking every single "Look at me, I am the beloved heroine that the audience will have every sympathy for" role that comes down the pike?
Everything she has done since leaving Friends, except for maybe the good Girl, is a variation on Rachel Green. She is either afraid to alienate the audience by trying anything new, or she recognizes that she doesn't have the range or the chops.
Play a *****. Play an abuser. Play ANYTHING but another victim or ingenue. It doesn't have to be three wildly different departures all at once.
I loved her in Derailed and The Good Girl. I'd like to see her take more meaty roles like those in the future. I'd really like to see her do an action film or a spy thriller type of movie.

I just hope she gets naked soon, while her body is still hot!
