'Gossip Girl' Leighton Meester talks France, fashion, Chuck Bass
"Gossip Girl" Leighton Meester stopped backstage at the Teen Choice Awards -- after winning Choice TV Actress honors -- to chat briefly with reporters on Sunday (Aug 8).
Wearing a shimmery short Pucci frock, Loubou heels, Cathy Waterman jewels and a Ferragamo clutch, she looked a bit out of place holding up her big Choice surfboard. But what's a girl to do? An award is an award.
On her "Gossip" love life this season: "There's a lot of stuff with Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair. Not the stuff we love, the sexy stuff, we've got a lot of fighting but it's just as fun."
On shooting in Paris: "They closed down the Musee Dorsay for us!" They also closed the Louvre museum and the Eiffel Tower at 3 o'clock in the morning for her film ("Monte Carlo")and she loved going to Chanel boutique, naturellement, on Rue Cambon.
On French fashion highlights: "A Harry Winston pink Sri Lankan pink sapphire necklace that was pretty intense, there were guards."
On "Gossip" guys: Anyone in the cast she would like to date? "What? No, no."
On working in France: "Gossip Girl" started three days after she finished filming a movie entitled "Monte Carlo," in France. "We (meaning Leighton, Selena Gomez and Katie Cassidy) shot in Paris and we shot in Monte Carlo. My last day was jumping into the sea all day and speaking French. It was amazing."
On her music: "I'm writing a lof of acoustic stuff and that's where my heart is going right now. I'm just experimenting and having fun." She has a new song, "She Said," that she says is "very much a club song."
On Prop 8: "Oh, I can't get into that."
On rumors of onset drama with Blake Lively: "We all have amazing chemistry and we're like a family now. It's all good in the hood."
