Did Miss Philippine's answer cost her the Miss Universe crown?
But hey, thanks for asking.
Raj reportedly grew up very poor, living in a wood hut without electricity. But she managed to graduate from college with honors. Questions about her birth certificate even caused her to briefly lose her country's pageant's crown. But she got it back after getting a Philippines passport.
Do you think her non-answer answer cost her some points? While she was ahead in the online predictions, she came in fourth and the winner was Miss Mexico.

Lame answer, Example like: Does that mean she'd never disobeyed her parents reaping consequences thereof in her entire life?
Disobeying your parents isn't really a major mistake is it? I don't see how it is not possible that she hasn't made a HUGE mistake in her life just yet.
Gary N. I know that. my point is she did not answer the question
Gary N. Didn't i said "example"? But that's not the point. it is a contest. any right question deserves right answer mate.
yeah,, venus raj committed a stupid mistake during the Q&A portion. however, i believed she did her part and i know the feeling she had during that time. we should at least be thankful that after a long time philippines became sensational in a major beauty pageant.
Ms. Raj was born out of wedlock, grew up in a thatched hut (without plumbing nor electricity) in the middle of a rice field, was schooled through the goodness of others as her mother was dirt poor, was stripped of her crown as the Philippines' representative to the Miss Universe pageant but justly reinstated weeks later because, according to her, she did bare all about the circumstances of her birth when she joined the pageant. They always prejudice her when she was young because on how she looks different from others with her skinned color and her looks that she's ugly but then all this circumstance on her life she makes it as a challenge and put it on a positive way. If you were poor and grew up full of love by your family I guess you will think twice not to do such BIG mistakes in your life to avoid it. Based on her life story that she shared months before the pageant which was posted in youtube that if she want something she'll do her best to obtain it and she's also god-fearing that god never gave them a problem that doesn't have any solution. She live in a simple life but still hoping to lift her family from poverty specially for her single mom who brought them up.
This is personal question and they just gave you 30 seconds to answer it. I guess to answer this question you have to scan which BIG mistakes you did from the past and then elaborate it, you are under pressure because thousands of people watching you. It's seem easy question to ask but the question is about your personal life and it's not easy to share that to entire world. Unlike the other contestant they've been ask about current events which is easier to tell about your point of view. But based on Venus life story, I guess she's just honest to answer the question but didn't elaborate that much so that others can understand. Usually in the Philippines specially if you live in a province or the area where she lives the biggest mistakes usually is if you get pregnant, or if you get married young, or you did something like taking drugs, I am sure she never meant that she never had any mistakes which she meant is BIG/Major mistakes. I guess if you grew up with nice upbringing and we also have our will to avoid or to committing BIG mistakes.
I, also have mistakes but minor. Now I am thinking what is my big mistakes and it will take you a while because you have to scan which one. Even president Bush asked to give him time to think about it and other journalist from ABC News.
