'American Idol': Fantasia Barrino goes ahead with 'GMA' appearance

Fantasia Barrino is going ahead with a set of TV appearances in the next couple of weeks, just shortly after she was hospitalized following a suicide attempt.The Season 3 "American Idol" winner has a new album, "Back to Me," hitting stores next week, and she's planning to promote it via all the usual outlets, starting with a "Good Morning America" appearance on Tuesday, Aug. 24. But the timing of the release isn't exactly ideal: Barrino has been in the news in the past week not for the record, but for being named in a divorce suit, allegations of a sex tape and being taken to a North Carolina hospital after overdosing on aspirin and sleeping pills.
Still, she says that the support she's received from fans has made her want to forge ahead.
"I can't thank my fans enough for their prayers and support during such a challenging time," Barrino says in a statement to Us Weekly. "It has given me the motivation to get back to work. ... I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this album and I pray that everyone enjoys it as much as I do."
Whether the "GMA" anchors treat her with kid gloves or ask some tougher questions about her personal life remains to be seen. Do you think it's a good move for her to keep the appearance schedule?

Isn't it surprising how "resilient" she is...
Trying to commit suicide and then being able to go right back out to promote her album (which of course is coming out soon!)
Seems the promotional stunts these so-called "stars" know NO bounds!
Something smells about this...and its not just her cheating with a married man!
Why are people so quick to judge? Obviously these young women in the business all have character flaws.
Then we all do from time to time.
Let's hope that she has learned her lesson. As for her resiliency, she probably has contractual responsibilities which she must address no matter what, some of which are appearances on GMA and other engagements.If she does not meet her contractual obligations to promote this album she leaves herself open to being sued by the record co. and others investors.She also has probably been advised that she needs to make as much money as soon as possible, since this man and his wife have set her up to be sued based upon North Carolina law. I do not wish to pass judgment, I am just saying that when you choose to ignore the fact that someone is married even if they are separated you run the risk of getting back what you put out there in the universe.
I still believe it is possible that this man and his wife schemed on Fantasia, because she is so naive and so gullible.
As for Alecia, I believe she followed the path that Fantasia should have followed. She dated the guy openly only after he was legally separated.GOT THAT LEGALLY SEPARATED. All you other women out there remember, if it is not in writing LEGALLY, it is still a marriage.Even if they are not living under the roof with their wives, only that paper is a testament to their intent to become unmarried and it must be signed and sealed etc. These men who follow this behavior are likely to do it again.Young women out there let a good man find you. Don't take or try to take what is not yours to take particularly if they are not
