Tony Curtis hospitalized in Nevada, going home next week

tony-curtis-2.jpgIconic film actor Tony Curtis was hospitalized last week in Nevada after experiencing breathing problems while singing his autobiography, "American Prince: A Memoir," at Costco.

RadarOnline.com reports that Curtis, 85, is in stable condition and should be released from the hospital within the next three to four days. Curtis' manager Michael Einfeld explains that "Tony is in the hospital and is going home after the weekend."

Although the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that he was admitted to the ICU at St. Rose Dominican Hospital last Thursday (July 8), Curtis is feeling better and is currently in stable condition.

This latest asthma-like attack marks the third time in eleven months that he has suffered a bout of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

The acclaimed actor is best known for "Sweet Smell of Success," "The Defiant Ones, "The Boston Strangler" and "Some Like it Hot."

He has been married five times, most famously  to actress Janet Leigh, with whom he had two daughters, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kelly Curtis. His current wife, Jill Vandenberg Curtis, is 42 years younger than Curtis.

Sorry that Tony Curtis is gone. He was really handsome and charming in his early movie star days. Almost on a par with Frank Sinatra in the '50s. Sympathy to his family in their loss.
