'Scream 4' shuffle: The 411 on Lauren Graham's exit, Adam Brody's entry and script changes

What is going on with "Scream 4"? These cast changes are making us dizzy. Though Lauren Graham confirmed her role in the highly anticipated slasher flick just 10 days ago, she's no longer involved with the production.Sources close to the production tell Zap2it exclusively that there have been some very significant script changes... and the changes aren't all good. In Kevin Williamson's original script, Graham's role was "a fun role. Not big, but it had some meaty scenes." Shooting began this week, and in the latest draft, "the part was reduced. She had like four lines."
Another source says, "The script changes have put a real strain on the cast. The original 'Scream' cast members aren't happy with the way that things are happening, so it's probably a good thing that [Graham] dropped out before things get messy."
Our source says that the script changes haven't ended. Another draft is on the way, and the cast and crew is four days into shooting. Graham isn't the only victim of the revolving door - Lake Bell was also cast in the flick before she had to drop out.
"Sucks: Scheduling conflicts with my current gig means I cant do #Scream4! (Hey horror bloggers, I know who the killer is...) #i'llnevertell," the "How to Make it in America" actress tweeted.
Hopefully, the latest cast member, Adam Brody, will stick around. According to our sources, the former star of "The O.C" will play a rookie cop who is thrown into the inevitable "Scream" gore-fest just after graduating from the Police Academy. Dewey Jr. done O.C. style?

Who is Lauren Graham? I hope Courteney Cox is involved. If they're looking for a funny actress with chops, LIsa Edelstein or Mary-Louise Parker!
Everyone must read, "Screenplays: How 25 screenplays made it to a theater near you--for better or worse" by David S. Cohen.
Then they will understand that when a story basically limps into theatres with the coherence of a 2 year old telling a story about unicorns, that's hollywood, baby!
I think this will definately be a rental.
I am really bummed that the changes were made to Lauren's part and she will no longer be in it. I was really looking forward to seeing her in a different element. I have to say that I really didn't like 3 and had no plans on going to see 4 until I heard that Lauren was going to be in it. I guess I am now back to having no interent in going to see it again.
Remember when Lauren Graham joked on a talk show she was the killer? Maybe she was... and it messed everything up. Whoopsy.

Lauren Graham's comedic acting chops are miles ahead of Lisa E and about equal with MLP so...

So agree with Heidi. Lauren Graham is a great comedic actress! She's also good in dramatic roles. She's got it all.
