'Scream 4': 'Community's' Alison Brie signs on

Several more actors, including Alison Brie of "Community" and "Mad Men," have put their on-screen lives in danger by joining the cast of "Scream 4."

Brie is set to play Sidney's (Neve Campbell) personal assistant in the Wes Craven-directed movie, The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision reports. Marley Shelton ("Eleventh Hour," "Grindhouse") and Erik Knudsen ("Jericho," "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World") have also signed on; Zap2it previously reported that Adam Brody is also in the cast.

Shelton is playing a cop who knew Sidney in high school, while Knudsen will play a horror-movie fan (a la Jamie Kennedy in the first two "Scream" movies).

Other newbies in the cast for "Scream 4" are Rory Culkin, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere and Nico Tortorella. (Not joining them: Lauren Graham, who dropped out after rewrites substantially reduced her role.)

Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette are holdovers from the previous movies.

"Scream 4" is shooting in Michigan and is scheduled to be released in the spring.

Brie will also be headed back to work on the second season of NBC's "Community" in the next few weeks.
