Rachel Zoe on Taylor Jacobson, 'There's a difference between being supposedly fired and being fired'
In the Season 3 premiere episode of "The Rachel Zoe Project," we finally hear what led to Taylor Jacobson's abrupt departure last November from the Rachel Zoe camp. Well, at least we heard Zoe's side of things. In the episode, Zoe and her husband, Rodger Berman, accuse Taylor of pilfering designer samples and trying to sabotage coworker, Brad Goreski.
In an interview with TV Guide, Jacobson stayed pretty tight lipped, though she did comment on whether she left the company of her own accord.
"There are always two sides to a story," Jacobson says. "I don't know anyone who hasn't been supposedly fired by Rachel -- just investigate her past with clients and assistants."
During a press call Tuesday (July 27), Zap2it asked Zoe about Jacobson's statement that she has a record of employees leaving her, including Jacobson, and then falsely calling those departures terminations.
"There is a difference between being supposedly fired and being fired," Zoe tells us. "And it's not the first time I've been disappointed and it's not the first time someone has been fired from my team. It's happened twice before, which I can say is not very much considering I've been doing this for 15 years."
As far as her history with assistants, Zoe defends her record. "There have been many assistants that have been with me for several years and it's time for them to go on their own," she says. "And they do so, and I support it completely. I have many assistants that I continue to send them jobs even today after they have left for many years."
Jacobson claims she's unable to speak in detail about her departure from RZ Inc., since she's bound by the confidentiality agreement she signed when working for the company.
Season 3 of "The Rachel Zoe Project" premieres on August 2 at 10 p.m. ET. on Bravo.

All Rachel Zoe does is play dress
up with celebs then whine about how
stressed she is.
I am Team Taylor on this one. She was the only reason I watched the show, and I like that she called it like it is and spoke up when things did not make sense.
Rachel seems to do quite well with her business, but she does drone on about being stressed, buying more vintage clothes for herself, and frustrating her husband by those purchases.
Good luck to Brad and Tay's replacement. They will need the patience of saints to continue working for RZ.
I thought that Rachel Zoe has 'literally' died quite a few times, so the difference between being 'supposedly' fired and 'quitting' is as silly as Rachel's stupid reality show.
sorry, but i hate the show. I was very disappointed in the show as a whole. i am a complete fashion fanatic but even i find the show boring and ridiculous! love many of Bravo's other escapist reality tv shows, though. i hate to say it, but its time to replace the Rachel Zoe whiny show.
The way Rachel and Rodger (with a "D") use the word "literally" drives me "literally" insane! I'm on medication and I "literally" remember to take it when I watch them. "Seriously" are Rachel and Rodger lying so often they feel the need to use "literally" whenever they express a thought or feeling? Why so defensive guys? Ok, you don't feel well, but you love France.
It only takes one time of watching this show to figure out what a waste of time it is. Rachael acts like she is drunk or on pills most of the time and Roger Berman needs to come out of the closet once and for all. He is THE BIGGEST *** on tv! Cancel this stupid show already and put some interesting people on Bravo instead! Whine about that Rachael!
I side with Rachel.
Why did not Rachel Zoe call the police if items were stolen from her? Instead, rumors that Taylor Jacobson stole the items. - If Taylor quit, and was threatening to take Rachel's clients with her, I could see why Rachel blackballed Taylor for quitting. It's all about money, and Rachel's husband waited for the bravo cameras to start rolling to publicly embarrass Taylor, so she would not be able to start her own fashion line. - If true, Rachael Zoe show should be cancelled. We are all being coned.
Why would Taylor steal from Rachael if she wanted to branch out and start her own company Taylor is not dumb in fact she was the smartest person on the show Taylor knows stealing would be career suicide! Rachael is being dishonest about that.
I am on Taylor's side, because she can't defend herself. She signed a confidentiality agreement when she got hired. So Rachel and her Husband can call Taylor a thief for their season opener of the show.
