Mel Gibson's almost ex-wife Robyn Gibson denies past physical abuse

Mel Gibson's almost ex-wife, Robyn, has written a sworn declaration on behalf of Gibson, claiming that he never physically abused her -- or any of their children -- in the 28 years they were married.

The declaration was filed with the court on Thursday (July 15) and will be submitted to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department when Mel's legal team presents evidence next week.

According to TMZ, Robyn writes, "Mel never engaged in any physical abuse of any kind toward me before, during or after our marriage."  Robyn also says there was never any violence by Mel against any of their children.

In her short and sweet 1-page declaration, Robyn admits that she is divorcing Mel but says,  "Mel was a wonderful and loving father."

A wonderful and loving father who stands to leave his wife and kids much more money if Oksana Gregorieva doesn't get a big chunk of it.

Yesterday, Robyn was photographed running errands in Malibu. Meanwhile the courts also ruled Thursday that Mel will continue to have visitation with his daughter, Lucia, one afternoon and one overnight visit a week.

Bet this is not making Oksana happy at all.
