'MasterChef's' Gordon Ramsay eats 'six or seven times a day'
Gordon Ramsay tastes everything cooked in his kitchens and stays slim, so he must know something about burning calories."I
eat like a horse," he tells Zap2it. "I have an active mind and an active body.
Whenever I have trained or worked in a kitchen, I run home with a
rucksack on my back and put 10 to 15 pounds of potatoes in it."
Ramsay's new cooking competition, "MasterChef," premieres Tuesday (July 27) night on FOX and he recently returned from Vietnam, where he
was fascinated by the way people shop for food, cook and eat.
"It
was so exciting to see cooking without dairy," he says. "The average
Vietnamese shops twice a day. They have no refrigeration and cooks
three times a day. They eat four or five times a day, small portions. I
graze. I eat six or seven times a day."
Ramsay has another unusual food habit and time-saving device.
"I eat my museli at night," he says. "It's a great way of having a proper lie-in, in the morning."
